GIG FOR PETE

Get tickets here! $20

Please join us as we celebrate the life of Peter Woodlands through song and story. Let us keep the conversation flowing, let us keep the music alive.

Featuring music by Melody Moon, Murrary Goodchild and Summon the Birds.

Melody Moon is being described as a fresh breeze on the Australian alternative folk scene. Her humble tales capture the heart and lend it to passionate strings and soaring harmonies, all delicately coated in her honest and breathtaking vocals. It’s not uncommon to hear a pin drop at Melody’s performances, the mood she creates on stage matched to those she’s compared with such as Julia Stone, Bjork and Sarah Blasko.

After two successful EP releases, both sweeping up a spot in the top 10 of the Amrap AirIt charts, the Melbourne songbird released her debut album ‘Down to the Sea’ in July 2015 to a packed house. Fully funded by her fans through the crowdfunding initiative Pozible, the album is a remarkable showcase of her songs to date and all carry her love of the ocean. She continues to be broadcast and interviewed on ABC Radio and community radio stations across Australia, and touring extensively attracting rave reviews:

“Just wonderful”- Sophie Longden, ABC radio South East NSW

“Captivating…soulful…joyful…romantic. I love having Melody Moon play at Folk Rhythm and Life Festival because she really captures a mood and a vibe that’s perfect, and it brings peace, harmony and love to the audience.”- Bill Skermer, Folk Rhythm & Life Festival 2012

“A really bright sound” – BEAT Mag

“Someone to look out for”- Trad & Now Mag

Pete worked with Melody for 5 years, recording and playing bass and doing the backing vocals on her debut album "Down to the Sea" released in 2015.
