With the support and encouragement of Gawain Davey, Kia Hei Moon has spent the past four years refining, embellishing and expanding her original songs into what they are today. Bringing to fruition the wish of her late grandmother to release an album, Kia and her troop of musicians embarked on the recording journey late last year and are pleased to now bring to the world their final product!

Enhanced by the musical majesty of her band members, who each hone so sensitively into the sentiment she wishes to convey, Kia shares eleven tracks that each tell a story of her heart. Her album title “Mahatu” carries this sentiment, as it is the word for ‘heart’ in her father’s language Rapa Nui. Her music is gentle, lyrical and folky, weaving stories of her life through poetry and sound.
