Who Am I Now? - In the beginning there was a feeling of dissatisfaction, although Matt Gresham’s life was at an all-time high, living in a surfing paradise in southwestern Australia being able to pursue his second passion of skateboarding, as well as receiving his first music successes of being awarded "Song Of The Year" by the WAMAs (West Australian Music Award). Actually, it was perfect for the 29 year old. But that's where the feeling of dissatisfaction stemmed: Matt Gresham felt trapped in paradise - "I have to get out of here. I want to grow! See new things!”

With a one-way ticket and his acoustic guitar, he explored the US, Asia and Europe. He spent days, sometimes weeks, even months in the same country. As a warm-hearted and open-minded person Matt Gresham has experienced a lot. Thanks to his debut album, we can now participate in it. In August, Who am I Now will be his musical travelogue, full of self-reflection and insightful songs.

Rachel Caddy

Rachel’s style expands across different genres, from plaintive acoustic guitar picking reminiscent of an indie-folk style, to writhing bass and powerful drums accompanied by spaced-out psychedelic guitar parts. Her songwriting explores both ends of the scale from delicate to powerful, and she paints the imagery in these songs vividly – drawn from life and nature, loss and small victories.

Sharing the full catalogue of her Originals, the night is a great opportunity to catch Rachel and her powerful band.

Post-rock jazz from the depths of Melboune’s leafy suburbia, Soft Power was formed by guitarist Matthew Roche in 2016 who began writing songs to pay homage to the jazz traditions of yesteryear whilst exploring themes of personal vulnerability and self-growth inspired by a Zen style silent meditation retreat in the Victorian hinterlands. Undoubtedly jazz tinged, but also (more importantly) – vulnerable, genderless, dorky & kitsch, unshowy & meditative –Soft Power’s new record ‘Easy Listening’ (released April 19th Newmarket Music) traverses a broad path through slow moving harmonic landscapes that at times verge on post-rock, 60’s surf guitar, pop and cinematic ambient music.
