The long-held tradition of the Melbourne Composers’ League Elbow Room concerts continues with
the latest installment at the Wesley Anne on Saturday 21st November at 3.00 pm. The Elbow Room
concerts have become a much-loved and appreciated part of the Melbourne music scene, providing
a valuable opportunity for composers to present their newest works in public or re-visit older works
in the friendly and conducive atmosphere of the Wesley Anne. The Elbow Room concerts are known
for their broad array of both traditional and experimental music by local composers, including
acoustic and electronic works. For audiences, the diverse mix offers something for everyone to
enjoy or be surprised. Featured composers on 21st November include George Dreyfus, Peter
Simondson, Leah Blankendaal, Stephen Lebsanft, Allira Preuss, Julian Cafarella, and Anthony Lyons,
with a selection of works including pieces for wind quintet and baritone voice, electronics, bass
clarinet, double bass and piano accordion.
