Longtime Darebin tunesmith, Tobias Hengeveld sings rare and valuable stories - swaying between local landscapes and otherworldly themes. Like a melodic Cormack McCarthy, Tobias plants honest narratives in the Australian psyche. His steady-burning 2014 release The Daylight Express is an acclaimed collection of rousing rock tunes, poignant riff-based reflections, and magnetic ballads.

The album was written during an artist residency at Brunswick Railway Station, then recorded and produced in Darebin with local artist Robbie Rowlands.

Gaining a nomination for The Age Music Victoria Genre Awards, Tobias and band went on to play a Falls Festival Lorne slot at the end of 2014. The Daylight Express live show continues to gather attention around town.
