UpTrio was formed in mid-2014 by electric bassist George Borthwick, drummer Sebastien Jego and pianist Ben Hooper. The trio began as a vehicle for the members of the group to collaborate on original composition, improvisation and unique interpretations of classic jazz tunes. Since then they have been playing all over Melbourne and recently performed at the 2015 RENAiSSANCE Summer Festival. The group’s performances often include a guest artist or two, feature tunes that are never played the same way twice and are always entertaining.
