Following in true country tradition and exploring themes of love, heartbreak, hope and the hardships of rural life, Patrick Wilson and The Bare River Queens capture a unique and nostalgic notion towards relationships, its many trials and tribulations. This is brought to life sonically through Wilson’s eclectic classic country band. Featuring the nimble, twangy lead guitar of Josh Jones, the heavenly background harmonies of Teresa Duffy-Richards and fiddle player Georgia Delves, and the rock-solid rhythm section of bassist Mitch Dillon and drummer Nathan Power. The band’s music borrows from influences of 50’s and 60’s rock and roll, as well as the poetic and romantic lyricism of the songs of Roy Orbison and Van Morrison. In regards such music, Wilson tells of how, “they’re really thought out songs and there’s a lot behind them.”

After forming in 2013, the group’s second ever gig was a spot at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in New South Wales. With such a strong initial push, the Bare River Queens subsequently were offered many more gigs around regional Victoria, including a two-night run opening for the American country group The Bellamy Brothers.

Patrick Wilson and the Bare River Queens are maintaining a busy gigging schedule in support of their 2015 debut album release. You can listen here
