The Anecdote launch their debut album ‘Carved Upon The Air’ at the Wesley Anne, on Saturday April 29. The album is a profound work, with songs written over a 15-year period, rich string and brass arrangements, and a compelling and haunting intimacy. Throughout their careers, members of The Anecdote have performed and recorded with such musical luminaries as Gotye, Dan Kelly, Jeff Lang, Gareth Liddiard, Greg Arnold and Dallas Frasca.
Mandy Connell, frontwoman of searing folk favourites Stray Hens, is a voice of startling honesty, with tales and guitar skills that have her well loved throughout Australia. David Francey calls her one of his & favourite trad voices anywhere (Best Album, Canadian FMA).
