Frances Gumm Frontier are a band based out of Melbourne, combining the forces of five established musicians from a swag of musical and artistic projects. Their sound is a whole lot of country with a whole lot of twang and is as catchy in moments as it is heart wrenching in others.

Led by the enticing vocal harmonies of Danny Suran and Erin Fischer; their songs tell the stories of history's lovesick, downtrodden and world weary. Danny’s guitar playing is straight out of Nashville and will get deep under your skin with its edible licks. Renowned pedal steel player Mark Thomas dips and soars throughout the set, creating a dream-like aural landscape that is the essence of country music. Nick Donaldson on drums and Danny Rosner Blay on bass are a tight backline, providing a hallmark rhythm section that has groove and tenderness.

Playing a mix of originals and covers, Frances Gumm Frontier are playing The Wesley Anne on Saturday May 13th at 8 pm. Supported by poet and banjo player Simon Carrol as well as roots bluesman Tim Hulsman, this will be a seriously entertaining evening of musical delicacy.
