Jess DeLuca writes songs about difficulties in our lives, getting lost in the woods, loving your mother and hating life sometimes. Gently whispering into your ear that it’s okay to be lost, with stark but precise arrangements matched to her meticulous and skilful, soft and poignant songwriting ability.
In the last year alone Jess DeLuca’s debut single ‘Lucifer’ premiered on triple J show ‘Home & Hosed’ to fanfare not normally received for a bluesy-folk barnstormer. Both ‘Lucifer’ and her second release ‘Woods’ received spot rotation on triple j unearthed and received many fantastic reviews from triple j’s very own Tommy Faith, Dave Ruby Howe, Claire Mooney and many others.
Upcoming EP titled ’Nightingale’, set to be released on January 18th was recorded late 2017 at Echidna Studios and was mixed by star sound engineer and producer Jono Steer (Gretta Ray, Ainslie Wills). The songs will sweep you away, rip you apart and gently place you back on solid ground feeling better than you did before.
