Once again we are bringing some of Melbourne’s finest comedians to the massive stage of the Wesley Anne, the chance to see brilliant comics open up on stage with at least ten minutes each, so you actually get a proper taste of what they’re brewing
For September we are bringing you Ben Searle, Paul Sharplin, Rohan Ganju, Alex Ward and our headliner for the evening, Ben Knight. Plus potential special guests from the tele!
Ben Searle is a Melbourne comedian, who performs regularly around town and has been a prominent feature in the melbourne international comedy festival displaying big laughs and hearty-satire on Aussie Culture.
Paul Sharplin, the most senior member of this lineup, but don’t think for a second that with that comes grace, if you’re his junior he wants to let you know that you don’t know nothing if youre gonna try and skate by without his advice on how to skate by properly.
Rohan Ganju, melbourne’s undisputed master of one liners and dry-wit, featured in the RAW comedy national finals in 2015, comedy zone in 2017 and his own solo show in this year’s comedy festival called Ganju dig-it. Featured as well in Comedy Central’s Goccsy’s Classics, Rohan is a sensational act that’ll leave you wanting more.
Alex Ward is another one of melbourne’s premier acts, regularly performing in the city’s best rooms, prominently featured throughout the comedy festival, recently following up on her third solo show, “no flirting” to critical acclaim. She delivers smart takes on awkward situations, being called Australia’s answer to Tina Fey, featured on Audible’s comedy podcast and the ABC’s Tonightly, we’re sure you’re going to love her.
Finally, your headline for the evening will be Ben Knight, a comedian who has performed around Australia in the nation’s biggest rooms and a regularly at the Comic’s Lounge in North Melbourne. Fun and full of energy you may have seen Ben on Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny, on the ABC or in the recently released aussie film The Merge, great that’ll leave us all on a high note for the night.
