Strange Gringo and the sweethearts are a Melbourne based music project that takes the seasoned, world influenced poetry and storytelling of the travelling gypsy Ben Buscador, and combines it with the craftsmanship of Melbourne's own Dan Vanhorssen on Drums, and Floyd Graham on Saxophone. The Gringos’ music encapsulates the essence of authentic folk storytelling and brings a unique and individual performance to every venue. Drawing inspiration from Brazilian Bossa Nova, Spanish Flamenco and improvised Jazz, the Strange crew blend mesmerising rhythms and soaring melodies to carry stories of distant shores, changing tides, lessons learnt and a longing for home.
