Eccentric, unapologetic art-pop connoisseur Montana Sharp marries complex classic chord structures and motifs with modern, innovative pop songwriting - her cinematic atmosphere will make you feel like the main character of your own movie
As well as having a classical piano background, she studied a double degree in Arts/Music at Monash University, which afforded her the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and at New York University. Since graduating in 2020, Montana has been active as a live performer and session musician. Her lead and backing vocals have featured on many artists’ singles, EPs, albums and TV shows across multiple genres, whilst her own original music has garnered impressive critical media reception from the likes of The Rolling Stone, The Brag, ABC Radio, and artists such as Katie Noonan, Kate Miller-Heidke and Kate Cebrano (and some non-Kates). Montana is a familiar face across the vibrant Melbourne live music scene, regularly performing at iconic Melbourne music venues such as the Brunswick Ballroom, the Wesley Anne, Stay Gold, The Workers Club, and many others. Montana was invited to perform for the Israeli president in Tel Aviv in January of this year, and had the privilege of playing the lead role of 'Lucille' in Parade at Chapel Off Chapel in July. She is also a vocalist with national touring band, The Echoes of Pink Floyd. Montana's second EP is set to electrify the Aussie music scene in early 2024.
