Melbourne based alt-country band The Distant South have been building a strong following based on their confessional song writing and captivating live performances. In 2024, the band released their 4 track EP - "Set Me Free", following up on their self-titled debut Album. With heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies, they delve into themes of love, loss, hope, and the challenges of navigating life's often difficult journey. The band’s music reflects the authentic voice and song writing of Nick Howells and is brought to life through a rich blend of instruments including acoustic guitar, dobro, lap steel, banjo, double bass and drums.
