SAT – Guitarist, Stella Anning (Bitches Brew, Push Portal, SPIRE Ensemble) is joined with
Bassist, Claire Cross (Oh Pep!, The Surface Project, The Outdoor Type) and Drummer, Alex
Roper (SPIRE Ensemble, Pigeon Presents, Ade Ishs Trio) performing Anning’s original
compositions inspired by all things guitar. Influenced by bands such as Kruangbin, Stevie
Wonder, The Meters and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, the trio play a mix of blues, jazz, motown and soul.
The trio is an all female line up, but for no reason except that Anning thinks these musicians are her dream rhythm section.
“Since moving back to Melbourne (2018) and being back in the Melbourne music scene, as soon as I met both of these incredible musicians, I knew I had to start a trio with them.”
After only forming in June 2019, SAT are headed to the studio early 2020 to record their first EP.
