From the eastern suburbs of Melbourne come The Bean Project, a vibrant brass-clad trio blending the raw sounds of folk, jazz and singer-songwriter - most aptly described as 'the odd marriage of James Taylor and The Cat Empire'. The Bean Project formed as a french-horn and acoustic guitar duo, playing small shows and busking up and down the East Coast of Australia. After two EPs and a full length album The Bean Project had grown into a five-piece, performing at Port Fairy Folk Festival, National Folk Festival and Folk Alliance International (USA).
2019 brought about a change in line-up, the triumphant sound of sax and occasional electric guitar, and an exciting infusion of soul and groove into their jazzy folk sound. The Bean Project are working on a new album due to be released in early 2020.
