This trio-quartet is a collection of distinct musical voices, exploring the music of the great American Jazz composers of the 20th century.
A gig is for those who reluctantly attend a social commitment, and while in attendance actually seem to find joy. This music will express solidarity with those that struggle to hide their glee from the person who dragged them along -because pettiness must always triumph over expressed happiness.
This is dedicated to the teenagers of the world and middle aged men (eg. my dad).
Robbie Finch is a Naarm/Melbourne based improviser, composer and bandleader. As a double bassist, he is involved in many musical circles, playing music including hard bop, free-improvisation, folk, indie, balkan and trad jazz.
