The Distant South are based in Melbourne and play their own original songs covering everything from Love, loss, fading youth, childhood memories - and the trials and tribulations of the human condition.
Inspired by the sounds of Alternative Country, Americana, Bluegrass and Folk music - influences include artists such as Sierra Ferrell, liz Stringer, Old Crow Medicine Show, Gillian Welch, The Cox Family and Courtney Marie Andrews. Acoustic by nature - melody, harmony and emotive lyrics are the artefacts that define the sound of The Distant South.
The Distant South are in the midst of recording their debut Album at Rolling Stock studios with Myles Mumford – and also have their 4 track EP available on all streaming platforms.
Singer, songwriter - Nick Howells & bass player Brad Partridge will be performing a pared-back, duo version of their songs at the Wesley Anne on Saturday the 20th of August.
