Pia Nesvara

  • Wesley Anne 250 High Street Northcote, VIC, 3070 Australia (map)

Arm-in-arm with her flamenco guitar, Pia Nesvara brings flavours of her Chilean roots in a blend of gutsy vocals, hard-hitting rhythms and brazen lyrics that create her ‘soul meets indie/folk-songwriter’ sound. Though some might claim she’s vertically challenged, at 24 years old, Pia is nothing short of passionate (and a little cheeky).

As a self-taught guitarist and songwriter starting her music journey busking on the streets of the Dandenong Ranges, she has now graced stages around the country, including the National Folk Fest (ACT) , Dorrigo Folk Festival (NSW), Queenscliff Music Festival (VIC). Her last headline show was, to be honest, probably a fire hazard due to audience numbers…. If you haven’t met her yet, you’re about to know, that this kind of boldness, skill and with a dash of playful irreverence - is hard to miss.

Pia is thrilled to play this -specially curated- show at the Wes - just a week before she boards her flight to Santiago, Chile. This is where not only her family is from, but where she will record her debut album in collaboration with composer/arranger and renowned guitarist (who happens to be her cousin), Ignacio Valdivia.

Get ready for a night of foot tapping rhythms, soaring melodies, special guests and coming-of-age songs and stories of the challenges and joys of being human.
