The Caleb Paine Trio is a jazz piano trio led by Melbourne-based pianist, composer, and bandleader

Caleb Paine. Caleb has previously led the trio at the Hot August Jazz Festival in his native Tasmania,

and is the co-leader of the Southbank Jazz Orchestra. Caleb has performed or recorded with

Matthew Jodrell, Jordan Murray, Gianni Marinucci, Toshi Clinch, Pat Telfer’s Improvisation Orchestra,

Matthew Ives’ Big Band, as well as a number of other ensembles in Victoria and Tasmania, and has

been commissioned as an arranger by the Melbourne Recital Centre.

The trio will present a performance of Caleb’s original arrangements and compositions, including a

number of original pieces which he recorded with the Southbank Jazz Orchestra featuring Matthew

Jodrell, Jordan Murray, and Gianni Marinucci, on the orchestra’s album The World Will Spin.
