  • Wesley Anne 250 High Street Northcote, VIC, 3070 Australia (map)

Marta Galtseva is an Australian contemporary pianist, arranger, and composer based in Melbourne, Victoria. She achieved remarkable success in contemporary music at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Contemporary Music at the Victorian College of the Arts. She later completed a Master of Music at the University of Melbourne. During her academic journey, Marta cultivated strong mentorships, learning from leading Australian jazz pianists Andrea Keller, Joe Chindamo, and Barney McAll.

Marta's improvisational style, inspired by Chick Corea, Art Tatum, Red Garland, Egberto Gismonti, McCoy Tyner, and Bill Evans, creates a striking blend of modal jazz and blues, characterised by melodically driven lines and strong rhythmic ideas.

Her talent has graced prestigious venues, including Dizzy's, Bennetts Lane, 303 Bar, Motley Bauhaus, the Melbourne Performing Arts Centre, Federation Square, Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, Trades Hall, Melbourne Museum, and various jazz venues in Sydney and Singapore.

After releasing her debut album, Feelings, as part of her jazz cover band Las Gatas, she is now ready to present her jazz trio, featuring the talented Monty Shnier on bass and Alastair Kennedy on drums.
